A New congregation

The idea hit me a moment ago whilst I was watching YouTube. Videos on the Vatican, as well as (bad) AI movies on Star Wars and all these thoughts mixed a different setting. You see, I always believed that games are the best instruction methods. It won’t make you a Ranger if you ace all the Fortnite campaigns, but it can be used to instill abilities. One game that stood out was ChipBits (CBM64) and I heard that a new version was made on Windows by the original makers. I hope it works out for them, I really do. But these thoughts were mixing when I was considering a few things.

Last week I saw some add that offered AI programmers over $400K annual, which sounds like a ploy of desperation, even in the height of Oracle’s needs, no programming DBA ever made that much money. And it is ludicrous to think so. Plenty of programming jobs exist and you can make a real decent penny, but not ever that much. Then there is LinkedIn with its Microsoft tethers and there are massive needs to get people on board in many ways, but I see them as hollow sales ploys. As a service minded person, I see the desperate effect of these moneymakers trying to get you on THEIR side and that is how they reel you in, then there is the setting of courses which will pull your wallet for several thousands and when you come to think of it (the small consideration that all AI is fake) we have a problem.

Don’t get me wrong Machine Learning (ML) is real, Large Language Models (LLM) are real (I tend to call them DML (Deeper Machine Learning) and we have Predictive Analytics and that is real and they are powerful tools, but Predictive Analytics has its own flaw because that is data based and data that is unvalidated and unverified becomes a real threat to that solution.

So where am I going here?
So when a place like Google offers a game not unlike ChipBits but modularly growing in several directions with additional settings over time (like trinary parts) and infill these skills of programming into a game letting the older youth (I think they are called teenagers now) get into that field completely set in a Google place of mind, both players (a Gemini reference) could grow actual skills without spending too much money. I reckon that Google could offer that for a simple $10 a month. Something most could afford, optionally it starts after you reached level 2 or 3 and you get the first three levels to home your skills free of charge. It creates traction and as such you could grow a population that embraces your solution without you having to push the fake AI setting, explain the ground works of predictive analytics, teach these gamers (aka students of life and education) the use of LLM and how to set this in machine learning. Now consider that the game will have partial settings not unlike ConfirmIT with a sort of Script setting that brings the knowledge to the ‘game’ and as these ‘gamers’ grow their knowledge you grow the population and create traction towards Gemini (and Google), the simple approach to adjust a good gaming principle towards a common goal most of us needs without draining them of their livelihood and consider what firm offers $400K a year? Where is the return on Investment? And I saw the same ludicrous setting over a decade ago. We now see “500+ roles are listed across platforms like LinkedIn Sydney AI Jobs and SEEK Sydney AI Jobs” I saw it a decade ago with DBA roles and I was told there were over 1600 jobs. All empty, no real jobs and it starts all over again. So now I am creating a setting where people trying to get into this field have a chance, properly informed and not some OpenAI/Microsoft sales talk to get you on board to THEIR solution.

I think the idea has a shot of working, but I reckon it is up to Google to consider. Optionally Oracle could use that idea, but I think they have a solid training ground with their DBA trainings.

Anyway, that was my idea to slice through the job BS that we are seeing now. Have a great day.
