That is quite the mouthful and I would have liked to have more ‘evidence’ but the setting is somewhat too dire. You see, I have been a lifelong fan of Android and Google and until recently (when I acquired my Pixel 11) all was fine. There were a few hiccups, but that happens in nearly every phone. So here I am with my Google Pixel 11 (Olive) and my Google Watch 5 (Also Olive) and a weird setting is happening. Weird is not the right words, because there is a distinct difference between ‘Weird’ and the ‘enabling hackers’ that is a little too extreme for words.
So in normal settings we get:
This setting where we have a setting called WiFi and I normally have it set to ‘OFF’ but in the last two weeks there have been over half a dozen instances where Google saw it as a setting where it should be turned ‘ON’ and that is too weird for words. I decide what to do and Google does not, not even in jest, or win any setting other than MY given permission. Because there will always be a situation where it might need to be turned on and in this age of Cyberhackers and just hacking to appease organized crime requires a delicate touch (like in ‘over my dead body you fucking fuckwit’) but I reckon you get the jest of this. There is no instance other then your dedicated inference that WiFi is to be turned on and the current setting is too unacceptable to be considered.
So whilst Google can optionally come up with all kinds of excuses of why (without consulting the user) that it might be turned on, the real issue becomes ‘When will you ruddy well fix that’ and that is the nicest way of me telling Google that they need to consider the ID10T issue that needs to be purged from the holy archives of Google. It might be right next to the people relying on a RTFM setting. Which could be explained in several ways, but the largest setting is that the Google Pixel 11 (I have the XL PRO version in Olive) requires a rather large testing sequence and they need to figure out where this WiFi is (optionally) randomly switched to the ON setting. I am pretty sure that I have not been hacked, or that an unknown router was connected to my Mobile, but there is no way to tall for sure and Google needs to fix this AFAFP (As Fast As Fucking Possible) and I now remember that these irritations make me swear like a boatswain in foul weather.
So make sure that you check how your WiFi is set and it might be fine, but in this day and age, there is always the need for checking your connections.
