Yup, that is what I saw on LinkedIn this morning and behest and behold, when I scrolled back to that it had vanished (stupid Microsoft), but the thought had invaded my mind and I have no idea who, what or how it was given to me, or even who was behind that dog, but it gave me a few ideas. You see, what I saw was mention that it had the ability to charge smart devices (which is not the worst idea) but my mind went wandering from that. So, whilst we keep the smart charging of devices and we get the optional mobile charge surface on that fido, there is a setting that could be beneficial to the elderly. Like a built in alert setting for emergency responders. And whilst we do not want to steer clear of the other devices, the idea to have a secondary alert system online, might be really helpful for these people. Then there is the charging (what I read) and optionally could be used to keep track of household smart devices. Then there is the alert setting for kitchen fires as the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) report 167,800 residential building cooking fires and that might be with a lot less damage as this Fido gets to sound alerts when it picks up the smoke in the house. Optionally there are smoke detectors, but a smart switch that cuts out gas is not the worst idea and I have no idea on how bad that data was in 2023, the stage that over 150K instances were at least reduced and optionally avoided could spell a few instances in this. Then there is the ability of gas detection, which might avoid a few issues and from there we get to electrical settings and there are a few benefits to see as well. So, whilst I have no idea on how far this Fido is actually implemented, the benefits are very real. I reckon that a small rotating beacon with Purple for biohazards (like gas leak), Red for fires and Blue for police and blue/red for ambulance and that is merely the indicator light, so that any first responder has an indication on what is happening and there is a midden benefit, there could be a roof indicator that pics up what Fido detected and that could alert the neighbours. All settings that in any place where there is the dangers of isolation could alert the neighborhood of any issues around them.
I would say simplicity itself, but whomever was taken with that design could have already have thought of that. But the story was take away by (what I see as a stupid greed driven acts by Microsoft) As such I see no reason to not write about these thoughts and ideas I have and perhaps someone merely saw that digital fido as an entertainment tool. All whilst there is a shortage of assist dogs and I do not want to take them out of the equation, but the shortage on a global setting goes into the millions and it take up to two years to train them. As such this digital Fido has real merit and could be released on a much larger setting, so whilst we see the option to increase functionality with a mere patch, all whilst the dog cannot duo all the things Fido does, but that is not against the dog, it has abilities that Fido can never match, but there is a real shortage and as such these makers could seek to fill the hole as much as they could and that is before we see what Fido could do after a disaster. It might be able to seek disaster areas from victims and that is another field where they could be a real help and they could signal the larger need for its owners to emergency services. These are all mere thoughts I am having on the setting and perhaps the makers already had them and a few more, but as the (suspected) advertisement is gone, so are the options to see what was, what could become and what merely is suspected speculation and I am happy to blame Microsoft for this as it owns LinkedIn, as such goes the blaming finger.
And as I see the actual DML field, not AI (or SI) but actual Machine Language and Deeper Learning (DML, Deeper Machine Language for short) there are plenty of settings set on data we do have to make Fido a more prominent real thing in any family and you only need to find one person (optionally elderly) who has forgotten about the stove once, to see what this could be a real money saver. And this is merely one thing, so as I planted these thoughts in whomever makes these robotic dogs, there is a larger stage to consider and perhaps they already did and if they have consider this article a place to cross your T’s and dot your I’s, nothing more than that.
