Just grabbing two ideas

Yup, I’m gonna go there. Two ideas, one I already discussed and as I couldn’t find it I might want to re-discuss and the second one I came up with seeing something last night. That second one is the first one I discuss. It will give developers for Android, iOS and HarmonyNext the option to spread their wings and make a few millions. You see, I am not much of a programmer, I was on databases, but I left that game decades ago. So I can sit on the idea, or give you programmer lot a nice setting of millions and that is the stage where you merely charge one dollar for the app per sold installation. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a few million by being adhering to the need of others?

So as I was watching some walkthrough video of the Carrefour in Dubai, It hit me that the people at vacations and business travel have needs, they need stuff, but at times you need to keep your mind in the game and that is where you come in. Consider that you are shopping for razorblades, sparkling water, fruit juice and perhaps  piece of meat as you are in a place where there is a kitchen. So what to get? Well this is where your mobile comes in. As you place the camera on the item, it will scan the sticker on the camera, the text is seen (it is already possible to do this), but the setting that is not done is that the local price is set to your local currency so you will see what everything costs. As I see it, you will have your local currency, say Australian dollars and the price we see is 6.99 (which would be Dirham in Dubai), the app will tell you that this is A$ 2.92, so now you know. And as I see it, there is a setting page which can give you the two currencies and at that point the scanner will give you the transfer almost immediately, not head scratching on what it might be, you will see immediately. As far as I can tell Android doesn’t have it, so likely the other two don’t either. And you are merely catering to the millions of tourists the world have. The calculations of two currencies are out there already and you merely need to get the connection working and million of tourists will be grateful. All these people ready to hand over a dollar for your hard work and they will be there in the millions. You might want to make it $2, but I reckon not much higher. You see, when the price goes up too much people will hesitate. From the $1 idea of it being a great deal to the $3 when people start considering ‘do I really need this’ and that is the path you want to avoid. Also the coming in after you don’t get the vibe ‘I can do this cheaper’ and before you know it, you are in a digital armistice race and you don’t want that.

A simple app that apparently no one sees and people need it. Consider any tourist that has been in a shop. They all thought “What does that cost in my currency?” I have had it and if you have been on vacation you did too. Even if it is as simple as the price of Beer/Wine.

See if you can make it work and have a nice day making the next app people need on their mobiles.

In September 2024 I wrote ‘Your (starting) fame on timing’ (at https://lawlordtobe.com/2024/09/05/your-starting-fame-on-timing/) where I gave the readers a similar idea for time. You see, what people forget is that when they travel, or have international contacts they need to be in touch with people outside their time zone and there the issue is seen when you don’t have direct view of these timezones. A simple app (or faceplate) optionally using the widget on the phone to set those times to the watch. I reckon that those who need it might also pay a dollar for that idea, especially if it synchs mobile settings. The idea is in that story, so have fun with that. It is merely a giveaway as I don’t have the setting to do it myself. Oh, and feel free if you make over 10 million, to ‘donate’ up to 20%, a mere request not a demand. As I have no grounds of demanding anything. I put this on my blog, as such it becomes freeware.

Two ideas, optionally making you an instant millionaire. Who doesn’t want that? You gotta start at some point and it might as well be here.

Have a great day all.

Doors and Windows are the same

This is the setting my mind went over when I had the fourth issue since yesterday with Twitter (I still refuse to call it X). And the setting is one that Google can pretty much solve overnight. You see they already have the technology and preparing that should not take too long. In the meantime Twitter is pushing boundaries and pretty much pissing off everyone but Trolls, Karens and MAGA supporters (as I see it).

Yet this morning I had a nice thought. Google can hand us an alternative. It is actually based on their YouTube solution. I am not sure why they hadn’t considered it. You see they have Google Blogger. I wanted to switch 2 years ago, but I have written over 3000 articles, so it is a bit iffy for me. Yet that doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t work.

We have the blogger interface and as I see it merely one option needs to be added. Instead of a blogpost, we would write a short post.

With the short option (not yet created), you will get a few limitations. A short post is a maximum of 256 characters including the references and the tags. Apart from that you could add an attachment or a few images. And that is it. And with the short blog (or Tweet) would be added and as I see the anger of the people versus Twitter, it should be able to gain millions of fans in a short term. If you are able to cut down on the trolls I reckon google would be off to the races soon thereafter. The nice part is that as others like Telegram did not get any issues, I expect neither would Blogger, and with the short blog (a direct descended of YouTube Shorts) there is merely a continuation of Blogger and now with Youtube attached. The stage becomes that any original source (Blogger, YouTube and Youtube Shorts) could also share this to the Blogger short, as such traffic should near exponential grow in the first year alone.

I reckon that the only real part is to create a new optional timeline in the other programs. As such the blogger will have a short line, a combined line where the Blogger has for the user a clear timeline of blogs and shorts. YouTube will get a display line (for the user) to see Youtube, the YouTube shorts and the blogger shorts. It will set itself apart from Twitter up to that point.

A simple setting that will gain Google a much larger following. Optionally when Twitter (or X) is diminished to a mere billion, Google can buy it out and clean that mess up as well.

I merely wonder if Google ever considered this path, because I cannot have been the only one who came up with this. And I have to wonder why didn’t Google proceed? There might be a very valid reason, yet I fail to see why. It could be that this stage was less of an option a mere two years ago, but now? I fail to see the reason why not. As Musk is growing its population of Musk haters, it seems to make sense to consider this.

With these options where Google could harness the populations of WordPress and Twitter almost simultaneously, I fail to see why this step wasn’t taken. And all whilst Jack Dorsey seems to be dragging his feet regarding Bluesky (which he left for the ‘freedom technology of X’) as I see it the options for Google becomes increasingly clear and there is no reason to harness the optional stage of more (or better) advertising, which seems to be the deciding threshold for all big-tech now.

If there is a reason to avoid this platform, it is clear that I am not seeing this. And Google will gain a lot more, it would be the first serious ‘attack’ on TikTok and that gives people in the American administrations of government a hard on (no idea why). If they had not considered this I would have been awake at the wheel more than half a dozen times. Oh, and I see that this could open a few more doors (if certain governments see this as an opportunity).

Have a great day, Vancouver joins us on this day in less than 15 minutes.

Ludum Scriptor

There was a moment, a mere hour ago that I saw where streaming could get interesting and that is why I am offering it here to Amazon (Luna) and Tencent technologies (handheld). You see, as a blogger, I know that fields evolve and there is a place where the people never were offered to be, but in all this streaming is opening a new door.

To give this a swing another thing happened. I rewatched a mini series. I loved it since the first time I saw it decades ago and about 15 years ago I got the DVD and today (after at least 5 years) I watched it again. Now consider that mini series Jack the Ripper the one with Michael Caine and Lewis Collins. The first setting is Whitechapel (and the suburbs surrounding it) the stage is as authentic as possible and the Unreal Engine 5 allows for that. To recreate London around 1888 gives the people a sight towards life there, towards how the dark is a lot less appealing that we know it to be. This is not about Jack the Ripper himself, but it will be about the scenery and about a new option. So every person there will be able to create a blog, a story of a person and as you create a person (a he or a she) and you can set the face around your own image. The person you create (tradesman, uniform or other people) will give you an address in London. So now you have a person. You can now create your blog, and it will be held as stories to that individual. You cannot interact with THAT person, but you can interact as your double. Your character will be around where you are located, it will allow others to interact with your person and learn your blogs. You (your avatar) can seek out others and learn their stories. It is a new way to interact, a new way to spread your stories and as this takes off, we could have Mumbai in Victorian times.  San Francisco (around 1907), New York (around 1927) and that list could grow. It has a two sided story, in the first the people get to see and walk around these places in those times. The second is that this would be a new place to propel your stories, your blog, optionally your vlog and it will be a new medium that could grow. They are all trying to hog off new games, but they need underlying knowledge and these places could grow that knowledge and give the people something to do. Pleasing well over 50 million people is not easy and before they all run around like rats in a wheel. You could consider offering a much larger stage, one that keeps them appeased and allows them to appease others. We see all the small options that were, but now with streaming it is an option to think up an entirely new stage and create even more stages. For a small fee these people could copy what they did in their first location (for example $0.50 a month) they get an additional person in a new city (and that same fee for every other location) that could amount to up to $25 million a month for every additional character. And as the quality of the locations improve, the need to watch these places with their own eyes also increase. A new medium that might (or not) be successful. So how many other ideas have you seen floating around? I got to this in under an hour and there are more locations where people might want to go. Paris 1891 (2 years after the Eiffel tower was build), then there is Tokyo, Los Angeles and a whole range of places where we always wanted to be. And as the places evolve the developer can include their own people (celebrities, historical people) and offer even more stories. Will the market be large enough? I honestly do not know but there are 600 million bloggers and there are plenty who want to stand out, so why are we not doing that? I will let it up to you to decide. I wonder what else I can come up with this weekend.

Enjoy the weekend.
