In Crete we trust

The trip to Crete was simple and interestingly enough lacking all comforts. Rhea and Demeter did not like luxuries, as such we first had the trip to Piraeus, then the ferry to Crete which would take us to Iraklion and from there 45 kilometres SSE was Gortyn, it was in the municipality of Agioi Deka. The archeological site was clear and easy enough. The problem is that no one had a clear clue where to go from there. And in this the fact that Rhea was Mother to Hades and as such my great grandmother did seemingly not help any. So as we were exploring the archeological places we saw all kinds of old things, but nothing that would aid us. It was hours later when we were near another building that I noticed something. There was a black hole, a pit that is darker than anything I had ever seen before. There was nothing there. I walked to the pit and asked Demeter what “Agesilaos” meant. They quickly looked towards me, almost shouting “Watch out” but it was too late, the pit swallowed me and it seemed that neither saw me go and that was the larger problem, the hole swallowed me and dragged me down. My instincts called forth Psychofagos, it shone and it cast waves of energy whilst setting an aura of protection around me. I then saw a lot more, the hole was a sea of arms dragging me down, dragging me to the bottom of wherever this was and about a minute or two thereafter the arms were gone and I was in free-fall towards the bottom. The bident slowed me and gave me a little light, but this darkness was nothing like the ocean, it was a much deeper dark and my eyes could not penetrate it with any kind of light. I went down and down and ended finally at the bottom of where ever I expected to be.  I reckon I had arrived in Tartarus. 

Even as Tartarus was dark, there was a lot more light here, or at least a lot more light for the likes of me. I could see a decent distance and I was amazed how this cave could go unnoticed by geological people up above. I started to notice a lot more. There were millions of bodies in all forms of disappearance, disappearance was the best word I could muster. The bodies were black, sooted black and some bodies moved, crawled over the ground, unable to stand. It was a view that called forth all kinds of pity, but I felt none of it. A little further the red glow of lava became clear. The bodies seem to avoid the lava, as should I I reckoned, but there was what could be seen as a path, close to the lava, where there were no bodies. I made for that strip and I was able to travel a decent amount further. The bodies were piling up higher and as I saw the lava stream split up, I also saw something that represented some ancient Greek fountain. I walked towards the fountain, but cautiously as it was a little away from the lava and now the bodies as I saw them were numerous. It was not one fountain, there were three fountains. They were empty, bodies all around them and in them, but no water. These fountains did seem to have had a function at some point. It took some minutes when I noticed that the three fountains were set around some symbol, it was in the ground, but I could not make it out, it was too dirty. I called for a shockwave and as the shock revealed the plaque, which was a silver plaque of a bident, the bodies started to move, there was a sound, like a hungry moan and they were set on me, and they were less then 5 metres away. The plaque bothered me, there was no reason for a bident to be shown here. I then remembered the work Hephaestus had done on my bident and the plaque made a lot more sense now, I turned it around and hit the plaque hard, very hard and the shockwave, pushed all the bodies away from me and blew whatever was in the fountains away as well and now there was a visible act. The fountains came to live. There was a blue stream coming from the three fountains all outwardly and it had a miraculous effect, the bodies hundreds of them were devoured and the bodies went to ash and vanished. The fountain now had something in them, but it was not water. It had a blue glow but was not liquid, it was gaseous and as the fountains filled up the higher part of fountain became some kind of faucet, sending the blue stream towards a higher place, but that was all I could see. Now with the knowledge I had gained, I cautiously touched the blue gas and it surrounded me, it went into me and revived me. I pulled my hand away. I started to comprehend the fountains and with that I went into the direction of where the stream went. It took almost 30 minutes to get to the next stage. This fountain was a lot larger and there were merely two of them there. Between the two was the same plaque and I repeated the exercise. These fountains had almost half a dozen faucets in each fountain, but not towards each other. And as I hit them the same thing happened, but now there was a much stronger effect. The one who got the stream from the one I had just cleaned was filling up, the other was not. I looked around and saw down the hill in the other direction three fountains, not working. Sliding on the air I got there in under 5 minutes and I hit this plaque as well and the effect was the same as the first one bodies all over the place, the fountain cleaning up and they all three started to work, the bodies disintegrating and the sounds of moans were clearly heard, but it mattered not, the blue waves came and devoured all in its path. I returned to the two large fountains and saw that the second one was filling up as well. I now started to see a stream that was a little below the surface. My Olympian sight saw what was or seemed to be a pipe that went up the hill and as I followed this path, I saw a third fountain, even larger than the second ones, more resembling the first fountain, but larger and slowly filling up. I also noticed that this fountain had two more holes, two more pipes I assumed and my plan started to take shape. I followed the first hole and it went in another direction, I followed that path and yes, there were two fountains a little over an hour from the largest fountain. And they too linked to two groups of three fountains. And as I cleaned the fountains, the bodies vanished and they too became the blue streams of gas. It was the third branch that was a different one, the two fountains were simple and clean, but when I went down, I noticed that there were larger creatures at the base of these fountains and there was a sound, not moans but growls. I readied my bident and moved forward. The power of my bident was not to be trifled with, the creature growled and snarled, there was a much louder growl, almost a scream and it was ready to attack me. It then hit me that it might have the same weakness and I slammed the plaque and yes that definitely had an impact, not a disastrous one for the creature, but it was howling. And it was now keeping its distance, and there was the rub for them, they were all attracted to the blue gleam like moths to the flame and the flame would consume them. The creature took minutes to devour, pulling back whenever it could, but the gleam was too attractive for it and minutes later it was also devoured, all whilst Mose cadavers had mere seconds to be devoured. And as I moved back to the highest fountain I started to see the waves of bodies, all attracted to the blue waves and I saw that the fountains were filling up more and more. As I came back to the largest fountain, I saw it was well over half full and it was pointing a new stream from the top of its pinnacle to the top of a hill and there I saw a building, not a large one, but a building none the less. I went up that hill and saw the doors, they were huge copper doors with the symbol of Hades. I entered, in there was a huge statue, a statue of Hades but as I looked at the stature, it was a statue made from one block of marble, solid and with an unrelenting gaze. And as I observed the statue, I noticed small details that were part of him and then I noticed his penis, which was decently huge, but much too detailed for any mason to carve. Then I looked back to the head, this was not a statue, this was Hades. I then noticed how only one bowl was filling up. I took notice of the second bowl and looked towards the other direction, the side I had not seen and there too I cleaned out all the fountains. Here two places had larger creatures, but they too were no match for me and no match for Psychofagos or the fountains. It was a few hours later when I returned and I saw that both bowls were now filling up and that is where they stayed. I noticed the overflow onto the floor and some went into me, but not into hades and it was then that I took a different step, I focused on the green stone and slammed my bident into his calf. It went into the marble and the green stone went from dormant to bright green. I kept the bident there and then I noticed the blue gleam entering his leg and the marble faded to show flesh. It was then that I removed the bident. I took a step back and saw how the body was slowly changing to flesh and the body showed the smallest movement. It was almost two hours later when the head moved and looked towards me. Another hour before he spoke. Hello grandson, I am Hades. It was not the family reunion I ever considered, but who is ready to meet family you never knew you had?

End of Season 1

Yes, yesterday I wrote article/story number 2500, now I have completed part of this journey. What I wrote today was the nightmare I had months ago, it drove me to write the stories that led to this story, the nightmare of months ago now in writing and we all have our moment when we think that we are the channel of gods, but to be honest, I never considered something like that and to be chosen by Hades himself is laughable, but it led me to the story you have read over the past few months. What comes next? I cannot tell, perhaps another nightmare (I hope not), and if it needs to be one, let it be one where I am the joy-toy of Laura Vandervoort (we are all allowed our delusional moments, aren’t we). But that is an optional story for an other day.

Not cordially invited

It had been days since the gift was bestowed on me. I slept but it was not a normal sleep. I was somehow aware of anything happening around me, and some was weird. It was like the dreamworld and the waking world had mixed. So it was not strange that I was dazed and confused for at least two days. I got the impression that Demeter and Rhea were amused, but they made no fun of me. At times one of them came to me with a cup of after or a cup of broth and aided me in drinking it. At day three I was decently aware of everything, I still kept to myself and there was a tree-trunk I had confiscated, claimed it as mine, to sit on and let the sun caress me. The day after I was decently normal again. Till a bit dazed and confused but it was more like a feeling like “Where did I leave my keys”, the day after life had turned to normal for me. I still felt weird, but it was a strange feeling, like something was missing. It was then that Demeter and Rhea approached me, both holding two cups ad a chair. First Rhea sat down and handed me a cup. This is tea, your body actually needs this. It has valerian and aniseed. I slowly sipped the cup. It was nice. The cup was half empty when Demeter sat down on my other side. She handed me a cup too. It was some kind of broth. Here is some chicken soup. You kinda need it, you have been all over the place for close to a week. We will make you some light foods to eat later on. Your body took a hell of a shock. We imbued the bident with the power of creation, fertility is largely about creation, but it is not that simple. So we imbued you with that too. The bident is now stronger connected to you, but it is merely the start. You are the first man in eternity to be given the powers of fertility and creation. We actually did this against out better wills, but others made us promise to hand that to you. ‘The fates?” I asked. Not just them, this is much bigger than you think, but we cannot tell you that yet, it is not our place. Things must go according to a line of numbers, a plan needs to formulate. We do not know it all, but we know some of it and we are not happy. But we agreed. Rhea then looked and me and gave me the ‘bad’ news. Fertility is also a larger burden, I had become a one pump chump. Any woman I enter would make me come in seconds with 100% chance of pregnancy. I looked at Rhea and casually stated that Lachesis might get a nice surprise that day. Rhea and Demeter looked at each other and laughed louder than anyone else had on months. Yes Rhea stated and her two sisters will not be nice about it either. We all giggled for some time. Then Rhea stood up, we will make you some sort of feast, but it will be light food, it has to be, after tomorrow you will be back to normal and a little more then normal, there is every indication that the mix of Kraken and our powers will have larger consequences, but we cannot predict what. This had never be done before. I nodded and relaxed on my trunk. 

It was later in the evening when the feast had arrived and it was indeed quite a feast. There were the fried rice plates with pieces of lamb and some broth stew over it, there were the rice pies with honey, There was a very thick broth that was so thick it could be eaten with a fork, but it had all kinds of stuff in it. Mostly vegetables and herbs, it was lovely. Then there were some kind of pies, on round breads, in there was a mix of lentils and beef, I definitely liked those. It was a meal that lasted several hours and both women were please to see me, I was changing a little, I was not getting fatter, but more sturdy. This was shown that I hardly fitted into my jeans anymore and more important I was almost an inch longer than I had been a week ago. Both grabbed an arm and beckoned me to the house, the put me on the bed and took the sides of the bed. They were naked and they kissed my head, sleep now, you will feel better in the morning.

It was early morning. Both women were still asleep, named looking perfectly amazing. I slowly and quietly got out on the Demeter side as she was smaller. I quietly climbed over her and went to find my clothes. I put on my jeans and t-shirt and noticed something odd, the inch was gone, the jeans now fit as perfectly as they did days ago. There was no mirror, so I just looked down and wondered what had happened. I shrugged and got a bucket the women used and got some water. It was whilst getting the water that I noticed things, things I never aw before. I saw more animals, they seemed illuminated, the trees were more distinct, the land seemed softer and in the distance there was more grey. I looked and could not make anything of it yet, and I wondered if they would tell me. I added the water to the copper pot by the fire and turned the handle so the pot was over the fire. I the went out and god one piece of wood and placed it on the fire. It then struck me that my hearing was a lot stronger too, I heard a pig snorting so I looked around, I did not see anything. The pig snorted again and now I focussed. It was about 200 meters away. That was a lot further than I imagined. My hearing was stronger. Not sure why, but it seemingly mattered. It was an hour later when the women got out. They saw what I had done and thanked me. They looked at each other as I gave a list of all the things I noticed happening from yesterday onward. They looked at each other. Rhea quickly got up. Demeter told me that it was most likely the influence of the Kraken power that was in me now. Then I heard a bang,  massively loud one. Rhea was 50 meters further banging two rods together. She walked back, OK, you can hear more, but not louder, so that is good. Hermes hears everything louder, it is not a nice feeling. You do not have that. We need to start prepping you for the next part, you need to be well fed and well hydrated for what happens next. We cannot tell you yet what, but it makes sense when we get there. Tomorrow we move to Crete, to a place called Gortyn.

The growth within

That is what I am all about today, not growing me (using roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, baked potato’s, thick gravy and a nice Tiramisu for desert) although, that sounds plenty appealing as well. No I have been writing about the grandson of Hades and as he dealt with the initial parts of the equation. Now I am getting to the part of Demeter and what comes after and now it is becoming to linear. That is the danger any writer faces, but for me it is time to up the ante and combine Demeter and what comes next, next is what some call the cliff hanger, for me it is not that simple. It is linked to what comes after and I will not give anything away here, but that is part of the challenge. To make something less linear, to keep it challenging and appealing and to keep it (for a lack of better words) riveting. It sounds over commercialised and for that I apologise. Consider the great TV cliffhangers. The West Wing, WestWorld, Battlestar Galactica, I will need more than a lack of linearity, the dialogues and the setting needs to improve by a fair amount. In all this I have ben about the setting and the story, I also have a fair bit of what comes next figured out, a decent bit of what we will see, face and a nice surprise at the very end of it. But in all this the step before needs to be resolved to let go of linearity. I have a few sand-cogs and twists ready, but I feel that these are for later, not for now. Even now I am seeing another part that can be added, a part I did not consider before, so Demeter is not alone in all this. And the stage is set to a much larger field. This is good, but now it is time to place the stage in a location, it has to be Greece for more than one reason. I considered placing it on Crete, I have been to the Psychro Cave. I saw where Zeus was and Lasithi could be used in other ways too, it could show more, but that takes it to a different stage. It is possible, but at that point I need to reconsider one or two things. More important, there is a larger need to get to what comes after. I never did find the entrance to where I needed to go. It is on Crete, but I never found it, no connections and no markings where an Elean would have placed it. I prefer to keep as much of it as close to the truth as possible, it makes for a more interesting story, and it makes the parts fit together more easily and it makes the story better, or at least I believe it is better when it is based on actual events. 

So as I am considering the options that Demeter is adding to the equation, The new figure to be added gives a much stronger vibe in this and it matters because the next part requires it, but how to set it in motion? I do not want to keep the fates around (for now) so we need a new antagonist as well as new protagonists. I setting that needs to evolve and cannot be rushed and there are a few options. You see Hesiod gave a few idea’s, but in this I would like to use the approach that Aeschylus took, it gives power and authenticity to the whole (OK, authenticity is not the right word), but you get the idea. There is more work to be done and it will take a little time before the next part is added to the blog, but I do want to give you the good stuff, not some repetition of linearity, or at least that will be my attempt. 

Oh well, time to have a sandwich and snore until the sun comes up.

A night with Clio and Alecto

It started 2 days ago, I have been wondering about the news (no actual new news, just the rehash) and what to write about. I heard snippets all over the place on ‘more of the same‘ and ‘lack of originality‘, yet until yesterday (around 03:30) I had no idea what to consider when the article (at https://www.inverse.com/article/58121-google-stadia-launch-games-6-aaa-titles-to-get-in-november) hid behind ‘6 Huge Google Stadia Launch Games That Will Make You Rethink Consoles‘ to invoke interest in the Google Stadia.

It was the sight of 6 titles that had been available for some time that made me wonder if some people at Google had any idea what they are doing, so I decided now to counter it.

When we look at these games, we see a first person need, no one denies this, yet if the power is applied, we can go so much further. For example, we might see the RPG giant System Shock in a new light (it is being remade). We might look at the Citadel (Mass Effect Series) and consider it is too big (or the death star for that matter), but the situation is nice and contained. What if we set up a large space station, fill it with crew, not spawning them at certain stages, but a station with the amount of people that would ordinary fill a space station. Now the Death Star has been rumoured to contain a crew of 265,675, as well as 52,276 gunners, 607,360 troops, 30,984 storm troopers, 42,782 ship support staff, and 180,216 pilots and support crew, so too large. Yet is the idea too far-fetched? What if we scoop back to Citadel Station (System Shock version) and we have to contain a situation with 5300 people? Now the numbers start making sense. The game has difficulty settings impacting available ammunition, health food and so on and in addition, we can set the scenario to Contagion (zombie apocalypse), Competitor (sabotage), Patent run (thief) and Entity removal (assassin), each with their own issues, challenges and options. The ability to blend in, to not be seen, to steal stuff and more important to remain hidden whilst you optionally kill (or incapacitate) a specific target. Yet the station is different, the crew is completely managed by the system and in some cases it has to be done within a time frame (any except the zombie apocalypse). The option to do it alone, do it together and the fact that this location can be reused gives it all a larger replayability value on a long term premise.

To some extent System Shock had many parts, yet the original had floors and the enemy would not pass that boundary. What if that is not a constraint? What happens when a place that big becomes its complete environment? Like the station on IO in the movie Outland (excellent role by Sean Connery). What if we had a station where the ‘AI’ error of waves of people do not panic (like in AC Unity, repeated to some extent in Syndicate), what if a proper hidden body does not set off alarms immediatly, but what if a missed shift does alert security to seek for the person, a station requiring ID badges becomes a new challenge.

How is this original?

Because the template might have been used to give rise to the environment, it can be any space station. Games like Destiny, Doom, are all about trigger point, all about spawn points and all about flag points. Yet what happens when it is already all there, how do we get through the game when we set off alarms, when we alert security by giving rise to an alarm. I think that this is the part that Hitman 2 really got right. Some will raise concern, but a lot of NPC should not notice, and that is at the centre of a much larger interaction. What if we consider that the stages of Hitman 2 are too confined (not for the story they had mind you), what if an entire city is the premise; do you think that every cop known everyone? They react to the badge, the uniform (medic), the identity (clearance) beyond that they often do not. So to set the ‘futuristic’ stage, millions of gaming fans have voiced the desire to actually walk around the Death Star, On Babylon 5, on the Enterprise, on Citadel Station and so on, yet no one pushed to make it happen to the degree possible, even Mass Effect Andromeda dropped to ball to the greatest extent there, an original game that allowed for (non IP secured locations) to be addressed. Locations to be originally designed, all with the option of giving a run, a challenge and optionally a group of friends united to stop an infection ramping through thousands. We now have the technology (we have had it for 5+ years) and yet they all rehash IP that has been done before. We even see YouTube on the 32 games that are coming, yet rehashing is not a solution, yes they do have some new titles, yet all IP that is already out there, or titles that will also come to other formats. It is interesting, yet we have seen since the very first PlayStation and Nintendo 64 that their true growth was through unique IP, I wonder when Google will figure that part out. We accept that sometimes doing something over is easier and I accept that, yet when we see that these designers ignore dozens of great titles that are on My Abandonware and evolve these titles into a new stage and challenge that will captivate its Google Stadia audience is interesting to say the least. Even now some of these original creators are looking at bringing life to what was an excellent game and turn it into a new great game. I wonder why Google might have thought that this was a path that was not googley enough for them to walk on.

Dinner with Clio

There had been noise around Netflix, several sources, including the article (at https://www.barrons.com/articles/netflix-stock-has-new-worries-including-disney-and-the-loss-of-friends-51563582983) give us a view on optional issues. The article gives us: “For its second quarter, Netflix added 2.8 million net new international subscribers and lost 126,000 U.S. users, versus Wall Street expectations for 352,000 domestic additions and 4.8 million international adds“, some might state that Netflix was not on the ball; personally I believe that Wall Street was setting the stage where the insiders could profit from the backlash of “The company’s shares fell 10% on Thursday, a day after the results. They fell another 3% on Friday“, it is a personal believe, but when we see that the difference between company and Wall Street is a difference of 2.2 million subscribers, a difference of almost 50%, it implies that Wall Street remains unfamiliar with realism. In light of the growing group of streaming services (Disney, Stan, and so on) gives additional rise to the delusional view of Wall Street, especially when you consider that Disney has Marvel in its corner. Yet with the spending spree of Netflix that is set to a $15 billion budget is also a concern. Even as Netflix studios are a one-time expense, the growth needs to come from new IP and mastering innovation in stories, it is the one part that Google and Netflix have in common. I can’t comprehend that they are not considering cooperation in that regard. There is overlap, but one that could be overcome, especially if they need to push Google Stadia to a much stronger position with Microsoft and Apple biting at their heels. They have to set a stage where they can overcome that optional weakness.

As such I decided to give a little diner party, Clio and Melpomene were in attendance, Clio came with a plus one. Not only did they confirm my view of Wall Street, they gave me another example, one I did not know, a story that never made it to print ever.

There is no time, there is no date, it was late summer and in the cool breeze of night, 4800 years before Jesus of Nazareth would be born Hades met with Apollo in a temple at Gortyn. There was no reason, or none that anyone remembers. They merely crossed paths to exchange words. It was after the talk when Hades walked towards the waters at Lentas that he sensed something, he sensed the end of a life and anguish, anguish to a degree that was rare and he moved in a blink to that source. He found a young woman; she looked at him, in pain and anticipation, but not in fear. It took Hades back for a second, this young woman showed more strength and dignity than the thousands of soldiers he received from the battlefields. He gave strength to her to heal by smearing the smallest amount of ambrosia over her lips, her wounds dissipated slowly to show true beauty, her name was Anemone, she was no one special, merely the daughter of a fisherman, brutally raped and left for death. Hades picked her up and took her to a shelter. It was during that night he bedded her and she gave herself to Hades. In that shelter she felt truly happy for months, and it was not until the second week of May that she gave birth, it was not something that she would survive, to give birth to the child of an Olympian was taxing enough the power of death that was there was too strong and it claimed her. Yet Hades knew that would happen, this was now all planned. The baby was named Elissa and Hades set forth his first part, he left her in the care of Tisiphone, Megaera and Alecto. The furies would raise her until she was ready. Over the next years 7-10 Elissa grew fast and became stronger and stronger. The realm of the Furies gave her a never ending supply of cannon fodder. Yet the furies were well versed in all matters and she was not merely of steel, Alecto taught her how to be anyone, to take shape, and how to reshape form. Form was a weapon that could attack the senses, the ability to temper anger to any degree and drive her opponents utterly insane. Tisiphone took Elissa under her wing to teach her about the act of murder, to see in other ways, the ability to charm any snake instantly and make it do her bidding. Elissa learned that cutting a small lock of her hair and cast it could turn it into a snake, to merely draw some poison from it, or let the snake scout for her. She could see through its eyes and she could see the heat of people without the use of a snake, in the deepest night she could see all around her and they could never hide their warmth from her. Her reflexes honed to new heights she was able to strike in the blink of an eye, her daggers thin and short would ensure death to all requiring the veil of Hades to fall over their eyes. Finally she ended with Megaera and there thing changed, as she taught Elissa the power of envy, to see the true worth and value Megaera did something Hades never expected. You see there is an unwritten link between the Furies and the Muses, it is that link that Magaera relied on in the past to see what is true from false and there the game changed. The furies always remember the services rendered and it was at that point that Terpsichore taught Elissa the art of dance and with that skill new levels of balance and creativity were taught to Elissa, Erato taught her poetry of the heart, so that she could always see the true love from the false one, feelings from deceit, as well as truth from planned falsehood, finally there was Thalia who taught her comedy, because Magaera had seen how the jester, the funny person was often overlooked by others, by serious people driven to greed, Elissa looked deeper into poetry and learned that comedy is not merely a relaxant, it was also an interesting weapon. As the lessons ended Elissa had levels of balance never seen in any person that was not Olympian, and it was at that point that Alecto fed Elissa her dinner which put her to sleep and started the dream of what her mother faced that fateful night near Lentas and they unleashed Elissa on the world.

What exactly happened that night will never be known, yet the 4 old men that ravaged her mother were found feasting on the flesh of their sons, who had grown up to be as despicable as their fathers were. In the morning the villagers found the four elderly feasting on a broth containing the bodyparts of their sons; skulls, ligaments were visible in the cauldron, the men old, grey and turned utterly insane chanting slowly and fearful “ένα ακόμα δάγκωμα για συγχώρεση“, Elissa had completed her training and was unleashed on the world, the furies regarded her as ready for a plan of their own.

In a blazing sun

It was deep summer; the sun was relentlessly beating the streets and people. A woman was walking the streets of Heraklion; she ignored the weather and casually looked at market stalls. The street was filled with tourists and she got plenty of smiling looks, it bothered her not, over the centuries she had gotten used to it. She had not seen Heraklion for decades, so she took it all in, she was on an errant to take out a murderer, she was still every much the girl the furies trained, slowly walking towards her goal, it was a building on Evaggelistrias and as she observed the building from a distance, looking at where she needed to be, she looked back at watching the poor boy beaten to death only 2 days before, the police had no clue, but she was not the police, she looked at the building and she saw her target, the two man relaxing, smiling, laughing and drinking beer, they felt good about themselves. She waited patiently until 18:30, most people were starting their meal and she slowly and quietly walked into the building. there was no movement, no sense of anyone and she walked up to their front door, she dropped a lock of hair and quietly entered the house and moved swiftly into the house, the two men were in the kitchen fetching beer and slicing meat, she walked past them as their backs were turned so that the balcony was not a place they could flee from she knocked on the wall and as the men walked with surprise into the living room she merely stared them in the eyes, as her eyes turned deep black, they went pale and white, they over overcome by fear so intense that they dropped their beers, and rant out the door only to see the large snake on the steps, they screamed and ran up, they kept running in fear feeling the hunt of danger behind them hissing loudly, they ran onto the roof running past the water tanks until there was no roof left, they never stopped running, not even as they fell to the grass field on Anogion and the last they felt was the anguish and pain of broken bones blood leaving their bodies and the sound of hissing snakes until darkness set it. Elissa picked up the snake and softly placing the snake in her bag, she would release the snake outside the city limits, her work was done.

That was merely the beginning!

It took me 30 minutes to come up with this idea, another 30 minutes to look into ancient Greece (and a few maps) and 30 minutes to write this, so when we see the implied lack of originality, I am not sure what that was coming from. Creativity is all around us, and it only needs to right spark to set the stage to something fresh. I believe it to be just around the corner and Netflix has an advantage, Disney will not consider certain paths, they rely on families and fairy floss sugary sweetness, it is partially the weakness that Achilles showed (see Brad Pitt in Troy). I believe that the people want something darker. It might have started with an unknown British director named Ridley Scott when he made Alien in 1979; it was that feeling that I had when watching that movie and that same feeling I felt came to me again when I saw Brightburn. It might seem a little shallow, it is not overly epic, but that same feeling is what David Yarovesky left in me, he got the jackpot and if Marvel does not see that and use it (for example in Moon Knight), they will miss out soon enough, Netflix has an advantage because of the limitation that Disney keeps and even if they go via Fox, the delays they call for give Netflix an edge, they merely need to find the right spark to entice watchers, Google faces the same setting, imitation might be the path to flattery, but in this game originality and creativity are much more powerful partners, Even now decades later we still listen to Queen, watch Firefly (or Star Trek) and we watch Top Gun, again and again. Originality and creativity did that, not imitation.

So find your muse and get creative
