Once upon a silencer

Before I begin, lets be clear the story part is all unadulterated fiction, with a capital ‘U’ no less. So do not see this as anything else than fiction. The story might not make it clear but this should and you should take care on what you trust as fact.

There is a town, the name Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. In that overgrown village is a house, the house is filled with all manner of people, all very adapt in English. They are awaiting a signal. Until that moment comes they sit, they sit whilst the ventilators are blowing cooled air towards them. Then a mobile sounds and one of them answers. The only response is ‘Yes, sir’ and he disconnects. He stands up and holds his assault rifle in the ready position. It is the signal the other dozen people were waiting for, they all instantly stand up they set their weapons to ready and walk towards the door. No word is exchanged, they are all aware of what must be done. They silently leave the house and they are like a silenced unit in the early morning. These soldiers have a few parts in common. They have no insignia, for all intent and purposes they could be walking shadows. They are all equipped with the SR-3 Vikhr. Made to keep noise down to a minimum, all experts in targeting, silent walks and shadow dancing. They approach the house where soft voices sound. They had prepared for this and they were ready. The locks on the front door were surpassed in less than 10 seconds. They walk in each in their intended direction and everyone was dispensed with in mere seconds, the entire operation took less than 20 seconds and there were no survivors. Then three other soldiers walked in, each holding 2 jerrycans, they stand in the room awaiting a signal. The corpses were relieved of papers, quick snaps were made of the face and hands and left where they were. The man in charge point his finger to the 3 soldiers. They move to their locations and thrust a hole in each of their jerry cans when they put them in place, safety pin is removed and they move to the exit following the other soldiers. In less than 10 seconds it is done and they walk back to their location, only to exit it on the rear and move towards 4 SUV’s that had arrived without making noise. They get in precisely as practised and they slowly drive away making a left turn, they are not in a hurry. People in a rush get noticed and these people are experts in not getting notices. Before they get to the end of the street they notice smoke in their rear view mirrors, only now would people notice that something was wrong, but they were already out of the notice zone.

Meanwhile in Germany
In Germany that day the officials started to arrest members of the Reich Citizens. Yet there was more in play, members of the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) and the Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) have their own charter to follow. Seven people who are part of no one, their only adherence is money and they have been funding issues that caught attention of the people who kept Germany safe and these seven people were adeptly removed from life. Each of the seven units were a mix of BND and KSK. The BND followed the KSK after people were relabelled corpses and started to gather whatever could hold intelligence that could be gathered. They were gathering intelligence but the orders were clear, passive collection only. Now the active collections started and the entire operations were completed in under 6 minutes and each team vacated the premises setting the location on fire through a short and patches of pure alcohol, nothing was left to chance.

The ugly intent
North of London is a small town named Hertford. In there is a house, a house with a young lady repeating the slogans she had taken to heart. Her dedication to JustStopOil might seem nice and even as she has no ulterior motives. She is a believer, but her ‘funding manager’ is not. It was orchestration of a new kind. And someone caught on, the man shuck in with an overgrown ratchet and crushed he skull with one precise hit, the girl falls down to the ground, dead before her head hit the floor. She was one of half a dozen targets, all done away in the same manner. The special operations branch took a different view from the others. They wanted the message to be clear to all supporters of anarchy. Your days are done!

It was then that the view looked to the west, but the members of QAnon were the responsibility of the FBI and CIA.

Yes, this is pure fiction, but the underlying story is not. This all took month of preparations, of coaching and we see groups like Reichsbürger with sudden means for action. We see people like Prince Heinrich XIII, we see JustStopOil and we see other places. Someone is orchestrating, I have no idea who, but this isn’t some stage of lets follow someone else. This took money, it took a serious amount of coin, all anarchy requires funds to remain undetected for so long and now the governments have had enough. It is costing them too much. Now I have no idea what governments thinks (many are unable to do so). But the need to protect coffers and freedom require actions and even as I am fictionally am setting these actions in motion, I have no illusions on these governments having their needs and their solutions. That is something that is a clear stage and we need to recognise it. I once (about half a decade ago) accused a judge of cowardice. You see, I believe in laws, it sets us apart, but it is not the golden calf. There needs to be flexibility. The law keeps 95% in check, this includes criminals. The law takes care of it. 4.9% is dealt with in other ways, 0.1% cannot be dealt with, so the law wins. However 0.1% of the 0.1% is the problem. It amounts to 80,000 people who will do whatever they can to harm and hurt the 8,000,000,000 around. Which implies that on average around 400 people in a nation are extremely dangerous. Some are psychotic, some sociopaths and nature tends to deal with them, but a few of these are clever, they are hidden and they thrash out damage after damage and they need to be stopped through targeted killings. There is no other way and relying on the golden calf names ‘laws’ is a cowardly short sighted action. Actual actions are required and now we et to the stage where too many connect to social media giving these anarchy driven people a larger platform to connect to, inspiring too many people and action is required. What the best action is? I cannot tell, but with the media relying on digital dollars implies that these dangers are getting worse, as such my storytelling side is using fiction to ward of that feeling of inactions. Actual actions are the prospect of governments and it is up to them to actually act, but that might be me oversimplifying the issue.

Have a great day!

The choices made for us

Yes, that happens. It happens all the time. We vote and the elected people make choices for us. We support charities and that allows them to save who they think are important. These are choices that happen, to some degree with our consent. In the other hand we are confronted with choices made FOR us, without permission and without consent. And there the problem starts, we cannot make all our decisions and all our choices, in this we also set a larger stage that we can never control, and that is where the issues begin.

In the first stage we see ‘Covid misinformation on Facebook is killing people’, the article by the BBC (at https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57870778) gives us “The White House has been increasing pressure on social media companies to tackle disinformation”, which is nice, but utterly useless. As I see (as a Republican) that there can never be freedom of speech without accepting the accountability of what we say. To put it mildly, I wrote ‘The accountability act – 2015’ On June 4th 2012, almost 10 years ago I saw the solution that all the high and mighty lawyers are steering clear from. My thoughts never became reality, and you might wonder why not? When we see today at the BBC “Earlier on Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Facebook and other platforms were not doing enough to combat misinformation about vaccines”, I am stating that people like Jen Psaki are wording the thoughts of people who are at times too stupid for everyones good. We need to accept that solutions like Facebook are mere publishers here, the people uploading their views are to be held responsible for what they say, but politicians for well over a decade refused to do so. I get it that there should be freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but in that same setting those freedoms need to be enriched with  accountability.

In the second stage we see ‘Under the skin of OnlyFans’, also by the BBC (at https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-57269939). There we see “Soon Tina was making $2,000 (£1,450) a month and able to rent her own flat. But in January, a hacker seized control of her account, blackmailed her for $150 and uploaded streams of IS terror videos”, as such we see “one of the million content creators on OnlyFans”, yet how much is revealed on the terrorist that resorted to blackmails. So the BBC and others are all about the OnlyFans part, but only (in passing) the BBC mentions blackmail and terrorism. So how much is there on that hacker and has that person been arrested yet? We can optionally see that Tina takes accountability for HER material, but who holds the terrorist accountable?

Then there is level three, which comes from the Dutch NOS. There we see (at https://nos.nl/nieuwsuur/artikel/2389685-zo-opereert-de-digitale-maffia) ‘This is how the Digital Mafia operates’. The articles gives us “We were able to listen in on a piece of negotiation between a Dutch security company and a hacked company. The online criminals are so professional that the negotiators work in team services. They even seem to use scripts during the negotiation – as if you were calling a customer service”, they even give a video on how a ransomware kill chain is operated by seven different groups, and the US president Joe Biden is all about blaming social media, instead of hunting down these digital criminals with optional targeted kill orders.

As I personally see it, our freedom has been given away hiding behind ‘freedom of speech’ posters, and the freedom of expression for digital criminals is to get every penny they can get. No one is held accountable for their actions. A choice made FOR us, against us and in opposition of our safety and freedoms.

So how does that sit with you?

Yes, we might see one side of the table, all whilst the other side is covered with a table cloth. And the Dutch version matters, in this age, after criminals executed the crime journalist Peter R. De Vries the public might get angry enough to force the issue and that gives us a new stage, the dozens of criminals feeling safe in the Netherlands might suddenly lose that freedom of action because of the acts of a person allegedly acting for (or in response) Ridouan Taghi. I reckon that it will take time to ascertain one or the other, but the public does not wait, they will act in loud response and that might be just the coin toss a few people are hoping for and especially the digital crime circles dreads, they are all about white collar crimes, all whilst the response is well above their heads and others will respond in kind, even criminals will react, all to push the limelight away from them. This is the response we get to have in a world of ‘freedom of speech’ without accountability.

In a world where no one wants to pay the bill for what they caused. This might be most visible on Covid and disinformation, but soon enough the Trumpists (drummers as well) and others will see the consequence of action without accepting the liability attached to it. Even now as life in the US becomes close to unliveable, we see that politicians are allowing QAnon speakers to take the limelight. You think the age of Donald Trump is over? Think again, as long as there is a lack of accountability is continuing this wave keeps on going on.

And the opposition? That is easy, it will not take too long, but the intelligent people could pick up their IP and take it to Canada, the UK and the EU, when that happens and the US Credit card is considered too overdrawn, the stage of life in the US will soon change and not due to a heatwave. In 2021 $15 billion in drugs patents will expire, the year after $36 billion more, and over the next 5 years the US will see well over $20 billion in technology patents expire and now consider that an estimated $25 billion in patents move somewhere else, an economy with an immediate write-off that goes optionally beyond $100 billion lost. Now consider what happens to your credibility when your collateral is diminished by 100 billion? The US might need a new song, one that is different from blaming big tech, they are keeping the US economy alive. All drenched in choices made for us, made for us all. Yet how many of them were made FOR us? And this is not merely about the US, when they go under so does Japan and soon thereafter the EU as well. Do you still think that freedom of speech is the real saviour? It is a one sided coin of a larger stage that ignores the other side of that very same coin.

Good luck!

The contemplation

We all have things to contemplate, for me this all started a while ago, but it got to the forefront yesterday after a call with a friend. We disagree on something and it is not about right or wrong, even if I believe I am right, I see that he in NOT wrong. My setting is data and I have been around it for decades, I have been in specific fields, he has not, but he has a real good grasp of data. So as I made a joke about not forgetting the population of zero for Parler, he dismissed it as zero data groups do not matter, and for a lot it does not, but it actually does.

So how to bring it to the forefront? In this (as a Republican) we can look at the stupid, stupid left and can coin a few phrases. There was the Washington Post ‘Parler, a Platform Favoured by Trump Fans, Struggles for Survival’, my by-line? ‘Rebekah Mercer just got a $23,000,000 tax deductibility option’. USA Today gives us ‘Parler goes dark: Amazon suspends the social platform from its web hosting services’, there is a lot more, but the setting is made, no more Parler and now we get to the zero part. You see, the one thing that President Trump achieved was a larger polarisation, the left thought that they had won, but players like Rebekah Mercer, one the people behind Cambridge Analytica and Parler have settings, they have larger plans. You think that she gives away $23 million without a larger gain somewhere else? It was the nightmare scenario, a unified place for right splinter groups and extremists. You think that people like John Matze will sit still? Uniting right wing splinter groups can be massively profitable, when no one will do business with you, losing 10% on the one who does business with you is still appealing, and splinter groups that cumulatively surpass the 50 million member marker is  still worth the effort.

How does this relate?
Even if Parler is at zero, its members will go somewhere else. There is Telegram, Signal and these people need attention and they will go where they can find it. Even now we see the Financial Times give us ‘WhatsApp fights back as users flee to Signal and Telegram’, and even as we see the quote “Facebook is scrambling to deal with a sudden competitive threat to its messaging platform WhatsApp after a change to its terms of service sparked privacy concerns and prompted users to turn to rivals such as Signal and Telegram in droves” (at https://www.ft.com/content/ee1b716d-4ed2-4b26-8da1-40c98db7b9b6), the stupid stupid left just doesn’t learn, presenting that a thing is doesn’t make it so, and the setting that the media cannot be trusted is out there in big letters. So when I say that Parler: n=0 is important. These people find other means and even as not all will go over, and not all will go to the same solution, if Parler had 100,000 voices, we need to find where at least 80,000 went, we need to tag and identify the extremists, I reckon the US Capitol setting made that clear.

In this we could consider the work of Marina Soley-Bori ‘Dealing with missing data: Key assumptions and methods for applied analysis’, it was written in 2013, but it is quite good and we start with the premise “the precision of confidence intervals is harmed, statistical power weakens and the parameter estimates may be biased. Appropriately dealing with missing can be challenging as it requires a careful examination of the data to identify the type and pattern of missingness, and also a clear understanding of how the different imputation methods work”, it is a decent starting point. In this stage, the report gives us a group NMAR (Not missing at random) that is the stage we have and it is an important stage. In the report she quotes Allison, 2001 “They lead to an underestimation of standard errors and, thus, overestimation of test statistics. The main reason is that the imputed values are completely determined by a model applied to the observed data, in other words, they contain no error”, the NMAR group is largely ignored and we can accept that in this work, yet in real life, the QAnon group and the Parler users are a larger stage and those who do not flee to 4Chen are in the wind and that is where we do not want them to be, so pushing these people to the dark-web was a silly move. Perhaps some might notice that I bolded one word, one word made the difference. Bias is the setting in missing values that is the dangerous one, most who know what they do see that, they tend to call it ‘arbitrary decisions’ but it remains a form of (whether good or not), of bias and that is where the train goes of the rails (without it being a maglev). The stage to find the NMAR is becoming increasingly important. It is not merely those that move there, it is the group they drag along that becomes a lot larger. You see, they might only gain the interest of an additional 2%, on a stage of 50,000,000 extremists, that is one million votes, that much changes an election, the silly democrats making presentations should have considered that in a much earlier stage. Yes, we see that pornhub can no longer use credit cards, but as these so called hypocrites will still cater to child labor and implied slavery, how much was gained? Especially as one stage was founded on consenting adults, the other was not. We see one side of the story, and the left keeps on hiding the other side, that does not mean that the other side does not exist. The democrats have an ‘out-of-sight-out-of-mind’ approach, that is unless they get hit directly, then they become vindictive. That was never a stage that would ever work, but they will learn at some point. The problem is not their mindset, it is their inability to follow through and people like Rebekah Mercer have the goods to unify one side and get rich in the process. All whilst players like Google pull up their nose at a $25,000,000 bill for a 60% share, they say that they can solve it themselves (they wish), and when they rely on ‘EVERYONE LOVES GOOGLE TV’, all whilst the consumer, when the $65 bill is due and the people see their budget melt away, do you still believe that everyone stays happy and loving? So when I make my solution public domain, do you think that there will be zero cease and desist messages?

In this the stage is rather large, the splintered right have moved somewhere else and now the larger stage cannot be predicted, when the Parler group goes dark-web, the stage changes even further and earlier some had days to prepare, now hours, how is that a better stage?

There is no population zero, unless they are all dead they merely vacated somewhere else and that somewhere else is the problem. This population is not missing at random, they are shunning the media and as we are given ‘An Absurdly Basic Bug Let Anyone Grab All of Parler’s Data’ by Wired (at https://www.wired.com/story/parler-hack-data-public-posts-images-video/) a mere 11 hours ago, do you think that it will be that easy, a person like Rebekah Mercer learned from Cambridge Analytica, was at a bug or an open backdoor? So when we see “The truth was far simpler: Parler lacked the most basic security measures that would have prevented the automated scraping of the site’s data. It even ordered its posts by number in the site’s URLs, so that anyone could have easily, programmatically downloaded the site’s millions of posts”, anyone thinking that things where that simple are out of their mind, this is a setting where some had the lowdown on millions, and as Wired gives us “I wouldn’t even call it a rookie mistake because, as a professional, you would never write something like this”, they touch on the stage that matters, when someone has the lowdown on a group of millions of people and they can unite them, do you think that no one looked at something out there for 2 years? Do you think that this is merely seen 11 hours ago (plus a few weeks to write the article), this issue has been out for a while and now that these people go to other means and other voices (the same voices in other accounts), the problem becomes a lot larger and more real. The people of Parler did not stop being an issue as Parler has population zero, now the people who needed to keep informed need to go back to square one and find them first. So how silly was the move we see now?
