Saved by the news bell

That is the setting. You see I was about to go nuts regarding fake AI (in this case the screw ups of WordPress) but before I got really angry CBC saved me. You see (at https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/britannia-beach-surf-park-9.7293328) we are given ‘A surf park is coming to B.C. — and it’s making waves with the locals’ which is (beside the lovely wordplay) a setting I never saw coming. You see, surfing seems to be closely linked to Hawaii and California. I never went surfing (cannot keep my balance on a skateboard), and I wasn’t about to try this on a surfboard. I am happy with the balance I can keep on a pair of CCM EFLEX 6 Ice Hockey Goalkeeper Skates Senior. I don’t mind the word ‘senior’ at this point as I am 60+ but the setting of surfing is one I like and admire, but you are not likely to see me on such a board. That ice there is too fluidic, that is more a Summer McIntosh setting, I am of the mind that Brooke McIntosh has, although she is a figure skater and I really have no figure, I am all about the puck (as a goalie I prefer it to go towards the other goalie). 

So back to the story, as we are given that in 2029 British Columbia will have its first surf pool. So as the setting s in the United States are deteriorating, Canada has another safe space for tourists. And now the surfers have a new outlook on pretty sites (nature) and healthy settings toward surfing. As it is the first one in Canada, it might get swamped straight of the bat with Canadians too. As such tourists will get a first handle on Poutine, Tourtière and of course the local delicacy ice wine (which I have never tried). So as we see these things come into play, there is another reason to come to British Columbia and it is less than an hour north of Vancouver, as such there are a multitude of reasons, beside the setting that it is smack in the middle of the road between Vancouver and Whistler, as such there are a multitude of reasons to spend the summer of 2029 in British Columbia and as I see it, you could stay in either of the three places whilst going from one to the other. As there is a bias service between Vancouver and Whistler, there is every chance that they will now in addition stop at South Britannia surf and the bus ticket from Vancouver to Whistler is a mere $33, as such it will be cheaper to get to South Britannia surf and if you are not sure where to stay, you could hedge your bet and stay in South Britannia surf whilst either place is a mere hour away and visit the other two places. As I see it, British Columbia is becoming increasingly interesting for international tourists. So whilst we relish the Beach boys sound, this might be the time for the Beach boys to make yet another jab at additional fame by creating a new Surf rock song for British Columbia. To be honest I think that this might be the greatest setting we see, because for decades surfing was synonymous with Hawaii and California and now that the Us economy is taking a massive dip, Canada will be there to relieve the people of the dangers of going to America. I reckon that this setting could be placed in either Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah all places that could replace the touristy need of going to the United States. 

So when you are considering where to learn to surf, consider British Columbia in 2029, just be aware that bears in Canada are not heavy set Bikers, they are real furry 800 pound rascals that are not of the vegetarian kind. So take any local warning serious.

Beyond that, British Columbia is breathtakingly beautiful, so there are numerous reasons to go there in place of California. And all that is even before we compare the amazingly healthy water in BC compared to the water quality of polluted sport in California. I cannot vouch for the California water quality, but the water in British Columbia is considered one of the healthiest in North America and that is saying something. 

So whilst you consider and fantasize about becoming a surf king or queen in British Columbia, I will return to the waned anger I am facing considering WordPress and will I consider Typecho or go towards Google blogger? Well, I wish you all a fine day, have a good one.

Trumping it along

That is the setting as President Trump proclaimed publicly “We don’t need Canadian lumber” and then Canadian wood product (lumber and utensils too) got a tariff hike. So as American lumber is needed in construction it would not be starting at a 25% depletion of that market (12 billion board feet) is now going somewhere else, Canada has had enough of this bully tactic and that is going to cost America a lot more than ever considered. It is about to cost America well over an additional $23 billion (source: Capital Briefs) and that was merely the start of this. Now the Financial Times gives us ‘Canada to reroute lumber exports as Trump’s tariffs bite’ (at https://www.ft.com/content/e56e8bb0-6dc0-4447-a907-e95164cec8e5) where we see “Canadian producers are seeking to divert around 10 per cent of the lumber normally sent south of the border to new buyers in the UK, EU and Middle East after the US president in September added a 10 per cent tariff on lumber, on top of an existing 35 per cent duty. The aim to send some 1bn board feet to alternative markets — enough to build at least 75,000 average size American homes — underscores how Trump’s tariffs are starting to reshape some global supply chains, although tensions between the US and Canada over wood exports have simmered for more than half a century.” With the added ““The US simply needs to fact-check better before they end up with a large shortage of lumber that may cause further housing shortages,” said Rick Doman, chair of the Forestry Innovation Investment board of British Columbia, which produces over half of Canada’s lumber. Washington’s escalating trade measures towards Ottawa have led to shutdowns and job losses in Canada’s C$87bn ($63bn) forestry industry, one of the country’s largest employers.” We see that Canadians have had enough of the voice from Washington DC, with Canada shifting towards Europe and Asian Markets, as well as stocking up on renewable products the setting becomes a global setting where America can now no longer fuel its own softwood needs driving housing prices through the roof (except for Florida where the Canadian snowbirds are putting their  houses up for sale, leaving in excess of 175,000 houses empty and deserted). That is the setting America no faces and whilst America accuses Canada itself as a dumping ground, they better come up with the evidence and as we see “Zoltan van Heyningen, executive director of the US Lumber Coalition, a lobby group, said the American timber industry could replace 1bn board feet of Canadian imports “without batting an eyelid”” that person better prove to be true to his word, because as it stands Canada is withdrawing over 3 billion board feet of wood. And the NAHB gives us that  “With American sawmills operating at just 64 per cent of capacity it “will take years” for US domestic lumber production to expand to meet industry demands” and in that meantime it will be shredding nearly every environmental document it has, because as I see it, the nearest place it can go to is Washington State and I reckon it will cost a few more pennies to get all these trucks up and going. In the meantime we see that “the US relies on a further 12bn board feet of softwood lumber from Canada for use mostly in housebuilding. Even allowing for spare US sawmill capacity and average recent American exports of 1.3bn board feet a year, the US is currently 3.2bn board feet short of meeting current demand, according to analysis by Fastmarkets, a price reporting agency.” And the ‘graphs’ all show that America depends on almost 30% Canadian wood, when that all falls away its own wood export collapses to zero. And that gives America a new mess to deal with, because Canada is eager to make long term agreements with Europe and Asia, which means that the next administration inherits this mess in 2028 and there is no going back. And as I see it, the bill will be passed on to Weyerhaeuser, West Fraser and Sierra Pacific Industries who will have to increase their produce by almost 50%, to make up for the shortages it faces, so in what reality did you ever see that happen? 

It might sound like an amazing option for these three, but in the American setting it does mean that nearly every environmental agreement will have to be torn up to even make this work. In the meantime Canada is expertly drilling into a $280 billion market and is seemingly doubling that within the next decade, as Canada is now moving from a resource player to more highly valued products, its margins will increase nearly exponentially and is becoming the new innovator on the block and that will ease the pressures that America thought they would hand them, their plan for Canada becoming the 51st state is blowing up in the faces of Politicians in Washington DC and that is the short and sweet of it for Canada. The hardship handed by president Trump is becoming the opportunity for PM Mark Carney. And Canada is loving the outcome of this setting, because as such high value products are to be made in Canada, giving them the setting from $255.20 towards a more then doubled market that is to come and as China replaces America as the number one export country, there will be additional settings there too. An opportunity that Canada will handle with care while in the same time increasing its export to Europe. As I see it, America merely shot itself in the foot (yet again) and that setting is to be crowned as the number one achievement for the Administration carrying that royal crown. It tried to diminish the economic footprint of its northern partner, instead it opened a new revenue handle and increased its export standing with both the EU and China. And as I see it, at no significant initial loss to Canada and over the next few years it will show a significant surplus to boot. 

A setting the Commonwealth prices and a big round of applause is handed in the direction of Prime Minister Mark Carney who is now seen as the big winner (perhaps he will accept a Nobel peace price in 2026?)

Continuity through science

That is what I realised last night, science is a balancing continuous factor in our lives. It isn’t good, it is’t bad, it merely is. You see, we all saw the end of the United States on the last day. It wasn’t tariffs, it wasn’t economic sanctions (although they helped). It was the simple rebranding of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. That act ended the United States. Whatever President Donald ‘the duck’ Trump sets it, it is the end of a world setting the stage of a better day from 1776 to 2025. And you can read ‘his’ reasoning (at https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/05/department-war-defense-trump-executive-order-pentagon). The world needs a balance, not some woke balance, a real balance and his actions are a joke to begin with. He has given Russia pause by two weeks again and again. Some war department he has. 

And my setting in this is that at some point he goes around the need for congressional approval the next time he needs it (like Canada and Greenland) and that next tier gets set to a massive destabilizer. At present his acts are setting the scientific world in an uproar. Their continuation is gone and now they are finding Chinese settings, at times through the Arabian peninsula to moderate whatever they need and I reckon before the end of 2027 The bulk of scientific progress comes from China, no longer from America (or South Korea). At present the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer is no longer useful to the scientific community either. He is too much of an American appeaser to be taken seriously. This leaves us Canada, but at present they are in danger of becoming the 51st state and that is not what they want, or what the Canadians want, but that setting is now getting more and more in the open. As the scientific community wants stability, at present, it seems that only China can offer that. Could I be wrong?

That is the ball game, but as we see Australian politics seemingly catering to American needs, the Commonwealth is done for and they will at some point rally behind Prime Minister minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. I reckon he never thought that he might become the leading voice of the Commonwealth. That is the reality the world faces and at that point China will be strong enough to take on Russia and America at the same time. I reckon that when the dies are cast, America will enter another civil war, not like in the movies, but a setting where the poor learn that their pensions are gone, Wall Street banked it all on red, all whilst the common people were black. That is the second setting America faces. We all see the media throwing a tantrum stating that some state made 4 billion in 2024, all whilst the 2025 numbers are ghastly. Now they demand an explanation and the media will come up short ending their short lived courtesan lives towards the digital dollar. 

You can agree or disagree with my views. I’m fine with that. I do not care. I’m just alerting you to the settings that by 2028 I will have been proven right with my views on the matter. I don’t care to be correct, I merely demand to be recognised after the fact and the media has a way of retrenching the truth according what makes them the most money.

So see what I told you and take the facts you are given and make your own conclusions. The $703 billion revenue state of California is about to get a rude awakening as 2026 goes on its merry way and $235 billion state of Florida will not do much better. They are about to get the rudest wake up calls in lost revenue and bankruptcies in their own histories in about 3 months. That basically set the tender to New York and Wall Street will take that lesson and bank in whatever they can and their captains of industry will walk out of whatever they had with whatever they can carry, as such diamonds will become a swift moneymaker as these people will walk out with whatever they can carry to a non-extradition zero tax place. 

And me myself and I (the Lawlordtobe) called it today that I accept that verdict as well if I’m wrong. You see, it is not merely about being right, it is about recognizing that I might be wrong and I can blame the media, but is that fair? I am merely reacting to a setting that the media gives me over a number of countries and I am trying to make my fortune with what I have as clearly as day. On the other side of the table

I have been weary of the other side of the table. In many cases it pays to see both sides of the table. As such, Today I saw the news by the Khaleej Times (at https://www.khaleejtimes.com/uae/residents-stranded-air-canada-flight-attendant-strike-high-prices) giving us ‘UAE residents stranded amid Air Canada strike stressed by vague responses, high flight prices’ and there we are given “A sudden strike by more than 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants has grounded hundreds of flights, leaving some UAE residents stranded in Canada as the disruption stretches into a third day. The walkout, which began on Saturday, has shut down operations for the carrier that usually transports 130,000 passengers a day. Despite a back-to-work order from Canada’s labour board, the union has refused to comply, demanding the airline return to the bargaining table.” At present I am not taking sides. I do not know the plight of the Air Canada flight staff and crews. Strikes happen and they aren’t nice. As a tourist I would vie for an extension (if possible), there isn’t much use walking on a airport for a few days. There is only so much you can do, and even if there is enough food, there is a larger concern here. 

The setting I do want to comment on was the small setting in the header namely “high flight prices” and the quote “UAE resident Emma Dylan, currently in Toronto, said the lack of communication from the airline has been frustrating. “They cancelled our direct flight without prior notice and moved us to an option with multiple layovers,” she said. “When I asked about compensation or alternatives, the response was vague. At one point, a staff member even suggested the Dubai route was cancelled because of the situation in the Middle East.” This left her confused and uncertain about next steps.” In the first Dubai is one of the safest places on the planet, as such that staff member should be fired (at the very least) and as far as we get ““Everything now is, of course, triple the price since it’s a last-minute booking,” she said, noting that she usually books her flights to/from Canada months in advance.” It is partially fair, Although, I am not sure how cheap here initial flight was, On the other hand, I would think that setting up a charter by Emirates, to pick up stranded Emirates might not be the worst idea and that could have been arranged as was on Saturday. One flight optionally taking care of the bulk from Saturday/Sunday night have been a solution, optionally costing the passengers something, but 

I reckon not as much as the ‘three times’ that quoted price. Optionally a setting that airlines can bring is a flight to London and subsequent flights from London to Europe and direct flights to Riyadh, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. That merely my brain contemplating the issue in less than 30 seconds. Was that hard? Was it even possible? As crews shut down in Toronto, planes might not get sustenance (read: fuel) I reckon that the Canadian air-force could fuel the planes and fill the plane up with pizzas. Just a thought to have. I am not turning against the strike, but everyone will realise that stranded passengers is a rather large call to make. 

So as we see “For now, passengers remain in limbo, refreshing their phones for updates, weighing costly alternatives, and hoping for a swift resolution between the airline and its workers.” We get that there are issues, but the setting how to resolve them is also up I the air (as expressions go), but a larger setting is, what can be done without setting off the unions and presenting the opposite side with an unmanageable evolving issue. 

I don’t have anything decent answers at present. I merely went into trouble shooting mode (without shooting people). And it was nice to see both sides of the equation. If you want to know more about the other side you can catch that in the publications of the CBC, so good luck with that. I just wonder what happens when you are with a business or First Class ticket at the Toronto lounges. I reckon I would gain a few pounds chomping down food and drowning in bubbly, but that is me, Always seeing to light in the darkness, even if Toronto was my destination, there is nothing wrong with a bottle of Champagne to wash down the Nova Scotia lobster rolls, Montreal style smoked beef, Bambi burgers, Poutine (mandatory), Nanaimo bars with Maple Taffy and in the end ash that down with some British Columbian ice wine. A nice way to get not a food coma to wait out the strike and at the end, simply ask them where the taxis are and you will have saved at least a day on your food budget.

The implied stage

This is not fact, but it is implied and I will explain the logic behind this. Less than 24 hours ago  Time and Travel World (TTW) gave us ‘Tunisia Joins Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Greece, Saudi Arabia, and UAE in the Booming Tourism Sector with Record Tourist Arrivals and Earnings in First Half of 2025: New Report’ (at https://www.travelandtourworld.com/news/article/tunisia-joins-spain-mexico-brazil-costa-rica-greece-saudi-arabia-and-uae-in-the-booming-tourism-sector-with-record-tourist-arrivals-and-earnings-in-first-half-of-2025-new-report/) Here we see among more given facts “Spain has been one of the top performers in the global tourism recovery of 2025. The country welcomed nearly 25.6 million international tourists in the first four months of 2025, marking a 7.1% increase compared to 2024. Spain’s tourism numbers have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, highlighting the nation’s enduring appeal. Notably, April 2025 set a record with 8.6 million visitors, marking a 10% rise from the previous year. This surge was driven by a strong recovery in both leisure and business travel.” This doesn’t seem like a lot. But take the slightly more complete setting of

This gives us 80,000,000 tourists most of them only able to pay for one vacation a year and they are not going to America. As such (and taking notice that this does not include Canada) I feel certain that the damage to American tourism will surpass the $29 billion we are currently given. How much more, that is hard to say. So whilst we are now given smash articles (as I call them) to voice applause for all the efforts that Epic Universe gives us in Orlando (and I do agree what I see on YouTube does look amazing) the American tourism industry will face at least until 2027 to return to some kind of normal and that is optimistically speaking. I reckon that it will take 3 years after President Trump leaves office for this to get back to some kind of normal. And I get that Florida is now casting the heave rods to get national tourism up. Yet without international tourists it will become a nasty time of hardship for the places that rely on international tourists. 

Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Florida, New York will all feel the pinch that these millions of tourists used to bring with fat wallets and they are now going anywhere else. That is money no longer in the bank of America and likely these people are unlikely to revisit America at present. A lot needs to change for that.

The most conservative calculations I get to implies that the losses for America start at $80 billion and might get to $115 billion by the end of the year. I also think that the Winter vacations are less likely to be affected. The snowboard and ski population tend to rely on what they know and slopes can be dependable. As such people who were bound for Aspen will return to aspen (the largest part), people tend to ski what they know and it makes for a loyal crowd. Places like Aspen have in addition a social side and these two make for a dependable setting. And it is not that place. Likely places like Deer Mountain Village (South Dakota) have a similar stage. But this implies that America needs to regain most of their losses from the winter vacation people. At this point there is no predicting on how the winter locations will be hurt by what is called the “visa integrity fee” and now we get the visa bond which will hurt winter tourism as that is a young persons game and they are massively unlikely to dish out ‘US to charge some foreign travelers up to $23,000 in visa bonds’ (source: ABC News), as such there is no way to tell how it will affect winter tourism, yet I feel certain that Whistler (Canada, B.C.) and Blue Mountain (Canada, Ont.) will be able to accommodate these people, and beyond that there is Europe with their snowy hills (aka mountains). 

So, at present I feel that the damage is likely to be the conservative number I gave earlier and it might be higher, but there is no data on this. This is a setting that has never happened before and as America is getting confronted on the silly notion that you can keep any hotel filled to over 90%, that cluster of delusional thinkers are getting a massive boost of reality at present. Three days ago we were given Las Vegas is empty, given to us by a ‘tourist’ wearing a Vegas Golden Knights polo. Now we see: ““Las Vegas is empty”: Viral video sparks alarming questions about US tourism decline” this is a bit late, isn’t it? I predicted some of these elements almost a week earlier. I never discussed Las Vegas airport, but that should have been done by the local people and now we see “Viral video sparks alarming questions”? How delusional do you need to get to the ostrich effect (bury your head in the sand) to avoid clear settings? This is setting the larger stage (source: money control) “The viral moment comes on the heels of an official report by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which noted a 6.5% drop in hotel occupancy and a fall in average room rates from $194 to $163. Even more alarming was a 41% year-over-year decline in traffic at Harry Reid Airport, according to the same report.” So, who had been sitting on these numbers? What doesn’t the American administrations want Americans want to know?

Simple question, yet are the answers as simple as it seems? When will Florida present the numbers and when will they sound the alarm? I simply crunched the numbers and I saw this a month ago (July 9th) in ‘Age of BS (Bill Sightseer)’ (at https://lawlordtobe.com/2025/07/09/age-of-bs-bill-sightseer/), as such where did you see this in American media? Only 14 hours ago, the American people were given ‘Orange County Tourist De­vel­opment Tax col­lec­tions surge 10.3% in June from a year ago’ and I need to give the larger setting. A Disney Tourist blogger gave us on May 25th “Epic Universe is almost empty. Dead. Devoid of guests. A ghost town.” Someone on YouTube gave a similar story but that is about it. Americans are allergic to bad news. I get that, none of us like this, but when the bills can no longer be paid as people al over Florida get the axe is news people need to know, but that might just be me. 

So the stage isn’t set, it is implied. A set stage has proper numbers and the media is giving half stories (as I personally see it) but the signs are clear. This doesn’t make it set stage, a mere implied stage and when the numbers come out in Q4 2025, a lot of people get a rude awakening and when they have invested in a bad and breakfast solution they might require a larger stage to survive the 3-8 quarters that follow. There is no way to be more precise than that.

And then there were 8

It seems weird, but it makes sense. In 1939 Agatha Christie wrote ’10 little Indians’ where one by one people got erased from existence. This setting now applies to America and their health care as the world already went after the researchers and the academics in health care. Now CBC gives us that Canada is going after the nurses. The article (at https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-recruit-us-nurses-1.7533079) gives us ‘B.C. fast-tracks process for U.S. nurses to get registered in province’, this was always going to happen, but as it stands now a lot sooner then expected. As such America healthcare is hanging by as little as a small spider wire. Like the sword of Damocles. OK, granted that piece of elementary hardware was hanging by a horse hair, as such, it might be a little less secure. Bur that hair with sword is now hanging over the head of the king wannabe President Trump. So as CBC gives us “The province is making it easier and faster for nurses from the U.S. to get registered in B.C., in an effort to bring more health-care workers north. During a news conference on Monday, Premier David Eby said “uncertainty” related to U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration creates an “opportunity” for the province to recruit much-needed doctors and nurses.” And David Eby, who is never at a loss to represent all of his his 5,722,318 constituents saw a setting evolve and he took the BS by the horns and gave it direction. And there is a chance that BC will be the first state in over a decade to have a surplus of nurses. I reckon that there will be need to weed out the ski wannabe’s from the healthcare crazies, but that is a story for another day and as such to have a surplus in Whistler is never a bad thing, especially with the YouTube crazies thinking that they are Olympic material on snowboards. 

As such we are given “American nurses can apply to the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives without first going through a third-party assessment organization. The province says collaboration with counterparts from the United States means the B.C. college can now access a database to review the education, exam results, employment and registration history of nurses who apply.” As such a setting without fleecers and fleecing. If you are a graduated qualified person, you stand a chance on a new life in a health driven state and with a natural environment. For those people I have one bit of advice, these singular colored panda’s (Brown, Black, White) are called bears and you need to keep your distance from them. These massive deers with massive antlers are called moose and they tend to be not the friendliest animals in the kingdom either. They are vegetarians, but they can run over you and you get to have more chances surviving that event with a tank than with a moose. Just so you know.

And as I see it (presented by CBC), the results are already there “Since launching its new process for U.S. nurses in early April, 177 people have applied to work in B.C. and 113 have received their registrations to practice, Eby added. The province said applications from U.S.-trained nurses are up 127 per cent.” And this is not the end. America will be short will over 250 nurses by next week and that implies that work will be harder for the remaining nurses and they will optionally also call in sick to post their graduate results before the first of June. I reckon that Doctors will be next and soon there after specialists (anesthesiologists, radiologists and theatre orderlies) which might be a separate step and as such then there will be 6. So how long does President Trump think he can piss of Canadians? I reckon that the UK, Australia and New Zealand are not far behind Canada.

Consider that only 5% will consider this move to any of the 4 nations. Now consider the quote we were given in February “It anticipates a 10% RN shortage in 2027, dropping to 8% by 2032 and 6% by 2037. While the shortage wanes over the projection decade, a shortage still remains. The 6% shortage equates to about 207,980 FTE RNs nationally.” This amounts to a near crises charter (the use of the word crises is overrated), but the fact is that the average hospital is dealing with more than 10% at present and until 2027. So what happens when the drain grows through other means? In Europe that shortage is also pressing and they are ready to vulture a cadaver named America. As such, healthcare is one, but this is not the only one and some are seeing the light in the distance, America is no longer the land of opportunity, that time has passed and now the ones that can get away, will likely get away. The setting of nurses is bringing that to the top, but it is not the only shortage that America faces. Do you think that pharmacies are getting rich over this? No, they merely are the from of the counter and the people are angry and they have dealt with that anger too much and I reckon that soon the need for registered people (likely now at Walmart Pharmacy) will be aimed for next. All sides of a coin that can no longer be afforded and they need a way out before the dreaded hour chimes.

As said, this was coming for a long time and now that the hurdles are here and the people are taking this steeple chase, it merely means that America is running out of options in several ways. As stated, all wars are set to deception. So lets take a fictive setting. A person is threatening Microsoft and its 280,000 people (that person thinks of the spouses and children as collateral damage). Now 1-3 places get hit, so how long until the bulk starts searching for another location? The threat was seemingly real. As such how long until Microsoft collapses as it can no longer function? Is it a mere 10%, or is more than 20% required? It is a serious question as these firms are partially running on skeleton crews. So how long until service level agreements can no longer be met? How long until its customers are running for Amazon or Google, with only a single copy of Excel (that product is the best by global recognition). You see, we see all these firms ‘running on empty’ with no fuel capacity. Now transfer that thought to healthcare and its staff already running. When is a critical point achieved? This is the larger picture that was never achievable. As I stated in the last week. America gets $4.92 trillion in tax revenue. From that, at least two parts are paid, interest from the US debt (which is $36.56 trillion, or $36,560,000,000,000) that interest is a speculated $1.828 trillion. And also defence spending which is $849.8 billion. This amount to $2.3T ($4.92T – $2.6T), that has to fuel retirements, healthcare, infrastructure and all kind of other expenses. I saw this go wrong in 2015, as such we are here and the nurses and others will be handed a golden chute, how many will leave it until it is too late? So how bad do things need to get before it all collapses and Microsoft is everywhere. So as they go the infrastructure of the American administrations go too. So good luck with that and as others have options, I reckon that we are seeing the latest in bungles that enough saw coming, but the media is keeping it under wraps as their ‘stake holders’ need the quiet time. Now that too much is coming out in the open the media has no excuses, merely the party lines like “It is a complex situation”, there are all kinds of excuses and redirections, but the fact that I saw this a decade ago is a larger issue. I am not the brightest light in economy, so others should have seen this a mile away. Where are those media articles?

If Canada can solve its shortage in this way, they are right to do so. As is any other country that needs their shortages filled. As such I reckon that these 113 nurses (at present) got out just in time. Especially when they revert their 401K or whatever retirement plan they have, because 113 times that amount might not seem much, but when they at least have their retirement safe, the ones that never make it might end up with zilch and as I see it, something will always seem more than zilch. 

But that might just be me. So have a great day and lets hope that these nurses enjoy the healthy atmosphere of British Columbia.

Canada betrayed

This is how I see it. It started a few days ago (at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-67787843) I was dragging my feet a little as I wrote about that Dutch monster during, or just after the trial. And now we see ‘Amanda Todd: Dutch court cuts jail term for fatal cyber-stalking’ where we are given “had his sentenced more than halved”, as such, how fucking insane are Dutch judges? To give you a little part, consider that this man had “Coban sent Amanda more than 700 online messages” (read the court transcript at https://www.bccourts.ca/jdb-txt/sc/22/18/2022BCSC1810.htm) we are also given that the stalking and bullying by “Coban began targeting Amanda Todd on social media in November 2009, when she was 13, using fake accounts to lure her into performing for him on a webcam.” And when we saw that “Amanda died aged 15, weeks after posting a video detailing how he had tormented her online for years”, as such she went through hell for years and this is how the Dutch jurisprudential setting treats this? So how about we all do to their children and grandchildren to what the Dutch system condoned for? How ‘forgiving’ will they be then? I wonder how adjusting they will be until they get skin in the game and there is a premise for this, the 700 messages, close to one each day will give us the accepting nature of this rage. And when we see “Explicit photos of her had also been leaked online.” The anger based person is wondering if any of the judges daughters or granddaughters have explicit twats to show the world? Is it their fault? No, it is not. But neither was it the fault of Amanda Todd and she isn’t given any consideration here, is she? The decrease of his sentence, that monster is making it so. Then we are given ““I’m feeling quite comfortable with the six-year sentence today because there was a chance the sentencing, conversion sentencing, could have been zero,” Ms Todd said.” I feel like I should agree but I cannot. She is right with the zero part, but consider that he was given “13 years by the court in British Columbia, he was returned to the Netherlands and the court in Amsterdam was given the task of converting the sentence to Dutch standards” one could argue (and I would agree) that 13 is a fair amount, “Coban had already been arrested by Dutch authorities in 2014 and jailed in 2017 for 10 years and eight months.” And that is part of the issue, there is every chance that now that verdict is done for, at the most another 2 years. So will he remain in prison until past 2030, or will some clever lawyer claim that this constitutes some form of Double Jeopardy? You see, that means that a person “In jurisprudence, double jeopardy is a procedural defence that prevents an accused person from being tried again on the same (or similar) charges” and in this case it is the “or similar” part that matters, it is everything here and cyber stalkers are repetitive monsters. That is where my rage comes in. I have always seen the internet as a source for good, for information. A monster like Aydin Coban does not deserve to be here. I will go one step further that I would voluntarily go to Tartarus to keep him there for all eternity torturing his soul until he is the last person in this universe. 

That is quite the bold claim, but I believe that is the very minimum that a person like Amanda Todd deserves, to be able to watch her tormentor being tormented for all eternity. Too bad the Dutch legal system hasn’t caught up to the massive injustice that they are doing the people. 

That is merely my point of view, and as ever, I could be wrong.

What is worse then stupid?

That is how I first reacted. We remember Forest Gump (Stupid is as stupid does), but this is worse. As such the CBC gives us (at https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/poilievre-world-economic-forum-rhetoric-1.6935294) the article ‘Poilievre’s Conservative Party embracing language of mainstream conspiracy theories’. It is there that we see “Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has been hitting the summer barbecue circuit with ramped-up rhetoric around debunked claims that the World Economic Forum is attempting to impose its agenda on sovereign governments” with the added “Poilievre has promised that none of his ministers will attend the international organisation’s conferences, including the annual meeting typically held in Davos, Switzerland” Now, any person and any government is allowed to do what it legally wants to do, but it is at this point the Canadians need to be thankful that it has Justin Trudeau making sense of a global mess. You see, before you join the stupid group, you have to know and realist WHAT the World Economic Forum is about. The organisation (a https://www.weforum.org/about/world-economic-forum) gives us “The Forum engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas”, in addition it is important to notice of “Moral and intellectual integrity is at the heart of everything it does”, leave it to a man like Pierre Poilievre to throw morality out of the window. So this is the setting, now consider that this is a place where political and industrial leaders have a sort-of non official place where they could mix mingle and see what is possible. Now, I will be the first to accept that these industrial leaders are in it for the $$$$$, they are there to see what options are there. So at what point in time, in what universe, with what economic scales it makes sense to give the people “The Conservative Party also recently sent out mailers with a poll asking people to tell Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who they think the prime minister should stand with: working Canadians or the World Economic Forum”. The clear setting is that people like Justin Trudeau are there to make sure that there is a decent future for Canada and Canadians. Will it all be smooth and will it all be great? I doubt it, give me an industrial leader and I will show you a person who is eager to please his shareholders and himself (and his board of directors), but this is in a stage where people like Trudeau can find options for places like New Brunswick and Nova Scotia as well. If there are 250 industry leaders there, there will be well over 225 who have no clue where these two places are and they have no idea that they represent 1.8 million people, many of them hoping for a long term job. Not everything has to go to British Columbia, Ontario or Quebec. And people like Justin Trudeau (optionally with an assist by Chrystia Freeland) can make these people aware of those options. I reckon that people like Pierre Poilievre will be all about helping ‘THEIR’ friends, so who does that help? There is a larger stage, the fact that this early in any elections that we see that people like Pierre Poilievre is embracing conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists is an alarming one. So Canadians better be aware that when things go wrong, people like Pierre Poilievre are most likely to hide behind spin stories and hide where ever they can until the dust settles and after that they will find the piggy in the middle to blame. Who will that serve? In this day and age, especially whilst the US is about to become a third world nation with its $31,000,000,000,000 plus debt. When that happens Canada will be in direct trouble, 250 million people seeking a ‘new’ home will come knocking on Canada’s door. There’s a conspiracy to see coming right at you at 500Km/H (I respected the metric system here). 

The fact that CBC was told that Poilievre did not agree to an interview on the matter. Is even more concern on the matter. My issue is that there are stupid people everywhere (even in Canada) so I have no idea how they can influence Canadian politics, but there is some chance, or CBC might not have written about it. On the plus side, Canada can take an example from Australia. We took care of the Karen’s in our society. We have games where the losers might not survive. The track event is started and around 10 seconds after that we release 4-6 dingo’s. The losers will be eaten. Result? Dingo’s not hungry and most Karens taken care of. Except the 2019 event. There we had 9 contestant and someone released 8 dingo’s. So I was gobbling up the popcorn thinking ‘This is great TV’. So there was the one winner and he was walking to closely to the water and a salty (salt water crocodile) got his ass. One year with no winners. Sad but still good entertainment. The problem is that conspiracies can be given in entertainment, but when it is seriously based it becomes a problem. Although in even in entertainment, when that sarcasm backfires it becomes irony, so take heed when employing that solution.

As such I wonder what is worse then stupid. Neither I or Forest Gump have any clue where to look. Yet we should all keep out eyes open for that problem and tag it when you see it.

What more can they do?

My mind stopped hen I was going through the CBC articles and it was (at https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/armstrong-wrexham-ryan-reynolds-nuvei-1.6818664) where we see ‘How Ryan Reynolds became Canada’s unlikeliest business mogul’ and to be honest, I am not sure that I agree. The man has played his time right. The most unlikely X-Files extra in season 2 (1994) got additional roles all over the place and at some point he got cast against top line actors and actresses. He held his ground and we all saw he was destined for some great roles. I can only speculate how he did it, but at some point he saw that his acting could get him more. And this is not for all and not for the faint of heart. He has the brains to see through things and he cashed in.

I called him (on more than one occasion) the craziest marketeer on the planet. He comes across flaky, but what matters is that he brings a message. In ONE advertisement he basically created global awareness to Nuvei. One ad did that. Like he did with other brands. Unlike many actor and actresses who become a face of something, he added (as I personally see it) his voice and insight and that is gold in marketing and as I see it, he figured it out and in the end he loaded two faces into over $2,500,000,000 (Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile), where this goes is anyones guess. I cannot say how this started. Was it pure luck to get involved with these two, did he see something others overlooked. Your guess is as good as mine and until his auto biography comes out we can just guess. But what is clear is that the nice Canadian guy we want as a neighbour saw that he was worth more and he got to cash in big time. This was not all luck. If you saw the advertisements he had done with Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile and one ad in Nuvei you can see that he is crazy as a doornail, but in this he gets a message across and the next thing you think is “Is there a Mint Mobile near here?” That is not the US marketing BS (like Microsoft and several other brands) it comes across as real and as a genuine article. As I see it , he sells by not selling things which is a rare ability to say the least. Yes, an actor (actresses too) are trained in this, but Ryan Reynolds is one of the few that actually used his brain and got the message across. 

As such when I see CBC give us “A recent Bloomberg piece compared Reynolds’s ventures to other celebrity-owned brands run by the likes of George Clooney, Kim Kardashian and Jay-Z. None of that guarantees success. Wrexham fell short of promotion last year. The Mint Mobile sale may still be challenged by regulators and no investment is ever a sure bet. But Reynolds has carved out a unique role and traveled a unique path to get here.” And here the issue starts. It is the ‘other celebrity-owned brands’ part. Reynolds is nothing like that. I saw the Clooney Nespresso advertisements and they are nice. Reynolds is just plain bonkers. for some reason he gets a message across and even as we have no idea what the message (a nice example is the Vasectomy mix) was. The advertisement (at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtRl9HZGZEE) is bonkers in many ways, but at the end you have a smile on your face and Aviation Gin is on your mind. I don’t even like gin and I am still on the train to buy a bottle. That is not simple skill, it is more and Ryan Reynolds has it. There is every chance he is not in it alone, t might have come from brainstorming, team effort, but he is presenting the part that makes us want a Mint Mobile sim or an Aviation Gin bottle. That is marketing gold and through this brands are elevated. Even after one advertisement I reckon that Nuvei is destined for greatness. One ad did this, one ad showed us an alternative to all the other brands in the business and the other brands have nothing to show us that they are worthy. That is marketing taken to a next level and one actor has figured it out. 

The other celebrities have nothing on him, not even George Clooney with his Nespresso (who is an amazing actor in his own right). CBC touches on that in the end with “celebrity entrepreneurship ties back to the star’s connection with their audience, their ability to tell a story and keep people engaged.” It is the ability to connect to an audience through storytelling and that is the part that Ryan Reynolds has down to a fine art and he has created the wealth to show this. Not merely HIS wealth, until Ryan Reynolds got involved, who knew anything about Mint Mobile? Perhaps in Canada, but within 6 months everyone on the planet knew what Mint Mobile was and that takes marketing gravitas. As such he is not an unlikely mogul, in the end he might have been an unlikely actor who got into the big leagues. Yet both markets need a genuine person and in this Ryan delivered. We can only wait and see what comes next. If the Ottawa Senators come through for Ryan, Vancouver will be in mourning for a long time as he sets sail to Ontario and the capital of Canada, optionally listening to Tusk (Fleetwood Mac) all the way. I am merely curious on what else he will do, because when it comes to business and business intelligence he is the most real person I have seen in decades and I have seen plenty since 1991.

Growth

Growth, we all seek it, in mind, in business, and in setting and there is a stage that is evolving at present. The Guardian reported early this morning ‘Record warm winter in parts of Europe forces closure of ski slopes’ (at https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jan/04/warmest-january-ever-forces-ski-slopes-across-europe-to-close). Now there is the expression that one swallow is no identification of Summer. Yet there is no guarantee that next year will be better. Consider the stages France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. That is a stage that gives them a pool over well over 2 million people who do want snow, who want to taste the slopes. They will soon need to seek or at least consider other venues. In the Northern Hemisphere that gives them Norway, Canada and China. Finland has a lack of mountains, as does Sweden. Norway can grow as can Canada. I reckon that there are too many anti-China sentiments at present. Norway and Canada have good vibes on the slopes and I reckon it is time for them to consider new settings. Some places in Norway can grow, but they will need at least one more place for now, as does Canada. Yes Whistler is a great destination, but it is overcrowded. The 2022/2023 movies are mostly ab out the horrendous waiting times, the amount of people trying to get up. Whistler is full and Canada either creates an additional place where the people now going to Whistler can g, or bleed tourists to other nations. I reckon that they will see that another Canadian field (most likely in British Columbia) makes sense. There have been abandoned places (near Calgary) that offer a good setting, yet that stage need work as well as anything new. Every field will grow, but only if all the amenities are there. The same for Norway, who is seen as an excellent place to visit, but the call of Whistler is strong. So, as I see it They both have good chances, but the one with a better option and a cheaper one (Whistler is really expensive) will get that cluster of people. So there is risk. If a strong winter gets back in the next year, their issues are saved (France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy), if not the early bird will get the collection of worms and it will be a lot more than mere thousands. Thi will affect plane travel as well as accomodations. There is of course a lot more and even as I cannot give you all the answers, there is clear place to grow, not merely to get the overrun to Whistler, the failing of places we never expected to fail will call for more answers, some we might never get. But the overwhelming stage is that snow is lacking in places where it should not and the places that could benefit might never have seen this coming.

That is not on them, but next year will be and there they need to find ways to either take the risk that they miss out, or see what they could get because a group of millions of tourists in this day and age is a strong call. Personally I have no interest, but there is a second stage, one that is not a given. We can get that Paris and Milan–Cortina d’Ampezzo are places currently set for the Olympics. I hope it goes well, but if this bad winter stage continues, someone has to step in. Who? That is anybodies guess. But there is room to grow for several reasons and several places will have the option to grow, will they take it? I cannot tell, but even if there is added revenue, it comes with a decent amount of risk. No one denies that, but no one saw the really bad snow weather of this season come, especially when places like Canada is drowning in the stuff.
